Tehran: Iran has said it has no enmity with the Gulf states or other neighboring countries in the region and supports cooperation to establish lasting regional security. However, Tehran has warned that it will not remain silent if any country’s territory or facilities are used to violate Iran’s sovereignty or endanger the security of its citizens.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai said that some Gulf countries have relied too much on the US military presence and some countries are also actively cooperating with Washington.

He said that Iran expects its neighboring countries not to allow their territory and facilities to be used against it. Baqai made it clear that to establish an atmosphere of trust in the region, all countries must take into account each other’s concerns and the trust-building process must be bilateral.

On the other hand, Iran’s negotiating delegation left Doha on Sunday after three days of talks with mediators in Qatar. According to Reuters, an official familiar with the talks said that the reason for the departure of the Iranian delegation was not any difficulties or disagreements in the talks.

According to the official, the focus of the consultations in Doha was efforts to reach an agreement to end the ongoing US and Israeli war against Iran.

These diplomatic activities are ongoing at a time when there are fears that the war in the region could intensify again after the US mid-term elections on November 3.

Iran’s relations with the Gulf countries and the ongoing diplomatic efforts in Doha are part of the talks to reduce tensions in the region and end the war.
