Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has criticized French President Emmanuel Macron regarding his response to the ongoing protests in France.

Baghaei stated that during the protests in Iran, Macron had expressed support for the right to peaceful assembly—a right that allows demonstrators to gather without fear of punishment—yet he does not appear prepared to uphold this same principle within France.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Esmail Baghaei addressed Macron, noting that prior to an attack on Iran, the French President had conveyed a message to the U.S. President, stating, “We can do significant things regarding the issue of Iran.”
