DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has clarified that “there is credible evidence that illegal Afghan residents are involved in terrorism and serious crimes.”
DG ISPR held a detailed discussion with a German magazine correspondent on September 5, 2025 on important issues.
In an exclusive interview with the German magazine, DG ISPR said that Pakistan hosted millions of Afghan refugees for 40 years, very systematic steps have been taken for the dignified return of Afghan refugees, and Pakistan has extended the deadline for the evacuation of Afghan refugees on humanitarian grounds several times.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the main reasons for Afghan refugees seeking refuge were foreign intervention and civil war, but those reasons no longer exist.
On a question about the neighboring country, the DG ISPR said that the violent incidents in India are the result of the increasingly extremist policies of the Indian government. India presents its internal problems as external while external problems as internal problems. India is involved in terrorist acts in Pakistan under the auspices of the state.
The DG ISPR said that authentic evidence of the involvement of serving officers of the Indian army in terrorist acts in Pakistan has come to light and Pakistan has presented evidence of Indian terrorism before the United Nations several times. He said that the international community should play its role to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that Indian state institutions, including the army, are under the influence of extremist political ideologies. The Pakistani state rejects all non-state elements without discrimination.
The DG ISPR made it clear that there is no place for any army or armed groups in Pakistan, no group or person other than the state has the authority to declare jihad.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that Pakistan played the role of a frontline state in the war on terrorism and made immense sacrifices in the war on terrorism.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson said that after the American withdrawal, American weapons left in Afghanistan are being used in terrorism and the United States has also expressed concern over the use of these weapons in terrorist acts.

The DG ISPR said that the United States has declared the banned Majeed Brigade a global terrorist organization, and several dead terrorists of Fitnatul Hindustan in Balochistan were also included in the list of so-called missing persons.
