Hamas presented its conditions during the ongoing indirect talks in Egypt between the parties on Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan.

According to the American broadcaster CNN, Hamas has clarified its main conditions for a ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Hamas says that it is striving for an agreement that reflects the wishes and basic demands of the Palestinian people.

Senior Hamas leader and spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said that our negotiating delegations are working to remove all obstacles and come up with an agreement that meets the aspirations of the Palestinians.

According to him, the Hamas delegation has presented the following conditions for a ceasefire agreement:

A permanent and comprehensive ceasefire; so that the Israeli aggression on Gaza completely ends.

A complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza; without any military presence.

Unhindered entry of humanitarian aid; There should be no restrictions on access to food, water, medicine and other goods.

Guarantee the return of displaced Palestinians; forcibly evicted people should be given the right to return to their homes.

A fair prisoner exchange agreement; ensure the release of Palestinian prisoners.

The immediate start of the reconstruction of Gaza; to be carried out under the supervision of a national Palestinian technocratic committee of independent experts.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum accused the Israeli prime minister of trying to sabotage the negotiation process, as in the past.

He added that we know that Netanyahu has been deliberately obstructing the negotiations at every stage in order to prevent a lasting peace agreement from being reached.

The Hamas leader added that the Palestinian people are steadfast in their struggle, unity and justice and will thwart any plan that seeks to undermine their national cause.

It should be noted that these talks are taking place at a time when the Israeli military operations in Gaza have been ongoing for several months and have created a severe humanitarian crisis.

According to the United Nations, millions of people have been displaced, infrastructure has been destroyed and a famine-like situation is emerging.

Egypt and other mediating countries are trying to come up with an agreement that will not only lead to an immediate ceasefire but also provide the basis for long-term stability.

However, there has been no clear response from Israel so far.
