KARACHI: Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights, Ms Nadya Gabol has directed Malir police authorities to provide extra security to private and government schools especially at the time of opening and closing, keeping in view the Peshawar incident.
She issued these directives during a “Open Kachehry” held at Hunter Football Stadium, Malir, which was attended by MPA Shahina Baloch, DC Malir Kazim Jan Mohammad, DMC Malir Rehmatullah Shaikh, SP Malir Dr. Najeeb Khan, THO Bin Qasim Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Mamager K-Electric Arbab Ali and XEN Water Board and other officers.
Parents of schoolchildren also came to express insecurity of their children’s at schools and demanded solid measures to ensure security to their children.
Ms Gabol expressed her stern annoyance over the poor performance of district offices of Malir and strictly directed officials of every department to give priority to the residing people’s grievances in order to give them relief.
The Open Katchehri was held on the directives of Chief Minister Sind for redressal of grievances of people at their door step.
The meeting was witnessed of hundreds of residents including women who complained about poor sanitation, health, education and law and order situation.
She directed DC and DMC Malir to regularly monitor all sanitary inspectors and sweepers and if anyone is found non-serious in duty then take stern action with submission to report, requesting for termination of said employee’s services, for onward transmission to competent authority.
She also directed education officers to submit comprehensive report about of primary and secondary schools in Malir with their current status whether they are functional or not.
She also ordered education authorities to submit list of teachers with their working evaluation.
She said that PPP had made no compromise over basic health facilities such as education, health and food in the past and have been striving it’s hard to make the fundamental utilities easier access to general public by holding such gatherings.
Pakistan Peoples Party and it’s Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has been on visit to different districts of Sindh and holding public gatherings in order to redress people’s grievances.
She said that police attitude should be friendly with general public because they are the friends of citizens, police must listened to the complaints of residents and take immediate action on their complains regarding dens, wine shops, etc
