GHQ attack case jail trial notification cancelled, Imran Khan to appear via video link

The Punjab government has withdrawn the notification of the jail trial in the GHQ attack case.

The next hearing of the GHQ attack case will be held on October 1, PTI founder Imran Khan will participate via video link.

The hearing of all 12 cases of the May 9 tragedy was postponed until October 1, the court ordered video link arrangements for the participation of the founding chairman of PTI in the jail on October 1.

Anti-terrorism court judge Amjad Ali Shah held the hearing, notices were issued to summon 3 witnesses in the GHQ attack case for October 1, the court said that the appearance of the three witnesses in the court should be ensured.

The court said that copies of the challans will be distributed to the founding chairman of PTI in the 11 cases of May 9 on October 1.

Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will participate via video link from Lahore Jail. The GHQ attack case jail trial had been pending for 3 months.

Summons were issued to all the accused on the next date of October 1 and all the accused have been ordered to ensure their presence on October 1.

Summons were also issued to KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapurpur, Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul, Kanwal Shozab did not appear despite the issuance of arrest warrants, the court had issued arrest warrants for 14 accused on the convictions of the Faisalabad Court.

Legal proceedings have been initiated to declare Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Kanwal Shozab, Zartaj Gul as declared accused.

The notification of cancellation of the GHQ Jail trial of the Home Department was submitted to the court, the lawyers of the founding chairman of PTI applied for the Home Department to issue a notification.

Public Prosecutor Ikram Amin Minhas presented the notification in the court, the hearing of the GHQ attack case was adjourned until Friday, September 19, the hearing in the other 11 cases of the May 9 tragedy was adjourned until October 1.
