Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the future of Pakistani politics remains closely linked to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to media at the Lahore High Court, Chaudhry stated that there is no space for more political parties in Pakistan, claiming that any new party would hold the same weight as Reham Khan’s implying minimal influence.
He asserted that the real issue is Imran Khan’s release from jail. He alleged that the current PTI leadership is complicit in keeping the party founder imprisoned to weaken his political influence.
Fawad Chaudhry criticized the existing PTI leadership, saying they are unfit to lead any movement and have failed to garner public support.
He also dismissed Aliya Hamza’s role in the political struggle, and added that if Imran Khan’s sons were to enter the political arena, the landscape could shift dramatically.
He further claimed that the cases against him held no legal merit and warned that the Anti-Terrorism Court’s (ATC) decision will only escalate political tensions.
