France has taken strong action against the increasing violence and expansionist activities of Jewish settlers against unarmed Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank.

The French Foreign Minister said in a statement on the social media platform X that France, together with the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Norway, has imposed new sanctions against those responsible for the increase in violence and illegal settlement in the occupied West Bank.

He added that these sanctions targeted Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, four leaders of Jewish settler organizations and 21 settlers who were involved in brutal violence against Palestinians and their expulsion from their homes.

The French Foreign Minister added in his statement that all these individuals have been banned from entering France and any French citizen has been advised to exercise caution in dealing with them.

The statement further said that the Israeli Finance Minister openly supports the annexation of the West Bank to Israel, the establishment of new Jewish settlements, resettlement in Gaza and the economic weakening of the Palestinian Authority.

According to the French Foreign Minister, such policies of Jewish settlers have a negative impact on the Palestinian people and are unacceptable to the majority of the international community.

He added that France and its allies are committed to the principle of a two-state solution for Palestine and will continue to oppose such measures to establish peace in the region that harm the prospects for the establishment of a Palestinian state.

It should be noted that since the start of the Gaza war, the establishment of new Jewish settlements in the West Bank and the violent eviction of Palestinian citizens from their homes have increased.
