English footballer buys shares in famous cricket franchise

Renowned English footballer Jude Bellingham has purchased shares worth £1 million in Birmingham Phoenix, the popular Hundred franchise team.

American investment fund company Knightshead Capital (which owns England’s Birmingham City FC) bought a 49% stake in Birmingham Phoenix last year, becoming co-owners with Warwickshire County.

In a statement released on Thursday, Warwickshire confirmed that the Real Madrid midfielder (who was raised in Birmingham) had bought some shares from both parties.

Jude Bellingham bought a total of 1.2% of the franchise, with half from Warwickshire and the other half from Knightshead. The club now holds 50.4% of the shares, while Knightshead holds 48.4%.
