Encroachment on lands of orphans and widows is intolerable, decision on the case will be taken within 90 days, says Punjab Chief Minister

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that the dream of establishing the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) has come true, she announced that cases related to illegal occupation will be decided within 90 days and special courts are being established for this purpose.

Addressing the passing out parade of the PERA force in Lahore, the Chief Minister said that the occupation of the lands of the poor, orphans and widows will now be intolerable, under the proposed law, 10 years of imprisonment and heavy fines have been proposed for illegal occupation.

Maryam Nawaz said that the inclusion of talented women in the PERA force is a matter of pride, this force will become a living example of good governance in Punjab.

The Chief Minister also took an oath not to take bribes from the Para personnel, to serve the people honestly, and to uphold the rule of law.

Maryam Nawaz said that she was in Tokyo on a foreign trip when she received information about the increase in the prices of flour and wheat, on which immediate action was taken, the prices have come down from Rs 4100 per maund to Rs 3100.

She said that the Para Force also played a key role in rescue and relief operations during the recent floods, while after the establishment of the Crime Control Department (CCD), the crime rate in many tehsils has reached zero.

She said that the citizens of Sargodha can now leave their homes without fear even at night.

The Chief Minister, being a female head of government, also reiterated her resolve to make Punjab the safest province for women.

She assured that wherever there is injustice, the government will be there to catch the wrongdoer. Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated the Para officers, jawans and their families.
