A meeting of ECNIC was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, in which a comprehensive agenda of various development projects was considered. The meeting reviewed the projects for the construction of Khawaza Khela, Bisham Expressway, as well as projects for improving the power distribution system in LESCO, HESCO and PESCO.

The agenda of ECNIC also included the Tarbela Fifth Extension Hydropower Project, while the approval of the South Punjab Poverty Reduction Project and the Fulbright Scholarship Support Program were also examined. Along with reviewing various projects related to water, connectivity and infrastructure, the revised PC Ones were also considered.

The meeting reviewed the progress and implementation of ongoing development projects. Ishaq Dar directed to ensure timely implementation of development projects and effective use of resources. He said that all relevant institutions should ensure coordinated and timely measures on development projects.

The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing the agenda of economic development and better coordination. The ECNIC meeting was attended by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Planning and other senior officials.
