Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has said that despite spending millions of dollars, negative trends in public opinion regarding vaccines have not diminished.
A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, in which he said that despite the spending of millions of dollars by UNICEF, negative trends related to vaccines persist. The main objective of the awareness campaign is to reduce the rate of vaccine refusal.
He further said that it is necessary to eliminate negative propaganda from the minds of the public regarding vaccines. The millions of dollars spent in the name of Pakistan are a burden on our shoulders, the correct and effective use of these funds is the responsibility of the state and the Ministry of Health.
He further said that several meetings have been held to achieve this goal. In the true sense, the purpose of healthcare is to protect people from diseases. The Ministry of Health is paying special attention to protecting the public from diseases.
He said that proper use of funds can not only bring about positive change but also eliminate negative trends related to vaccines. A comprehensive strategy should be formulated to restore public confidence in vaccines and transparency, accountability and results-based measures should be ensured.
