ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday condemned the federal government for violating a court order by putting him under house arrest at Bani Gala in Islamabad.
‘First of all, I want to ask Nawaz Sharif government whether it’s monarchy or democracy?,’ Khan said while speaking to media outside his besieged residence in Bani Gala.
‘Why has the government barricaded the whole city when Islamabad High Court has ordered the administration to refrain from any such actions,’ he questioned.
‘How can they house arrest me and other leaders of the party and I want to ask which law did I break? It is also the trial of judiciary because their orders are being flouted.’
Khan said that some PML-N leaders were defending Sharif brothers as they too were scared of accountability. Nawaz Sharif, the premier did not have any understanding of democracy, Khan claimed adding that he would keep pressurizing the government until the premier presents himself for accountability.
‘I will say again; Nawaz Sharif who was bred in the lap of a dictator, he can never ever know democracy – so I ask again; what kind of a democracy is this?’
He said that he was supposed to go to Rawalpindi for Sheikh Rasheed’s Jalsa, but his focus was now on November 2.
‘You can’t stop me even if you deploy 30,000 policemen,’ said the PTI chairman.
Khan also mentioned Model Town incident by promising to put both the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif and the premier behind. NNI
