The Sugar Advisory Board meeting chaired by Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain decided that sugar will be provided at Rs 130 per kg during Ramadan.
The meeting was attended by Pakistan Sugar Mills Association, provincial secretaries and cane commissioners, in which it was decided to set up sugar stalls three days before Ramadan, which will continue until 27 Ramadan.
Sugar will be available in one and two kg packaging and 5 kg of sugar will be allowed to be purchased on an identity card. The sugar stalls will be supervised by federal ministers and chief secretaries to ensure the availability of sugar to the public at fixed rates.
