Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the governments that came after his government did nothing in Azad Kashmir and asked Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto not to consider Kashmir as Kashmore and Mirpur as Mirpur Khas.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while addressing a rally in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, said that Mirpur is a beautiful city, but it is not as beautiful as it should have been and the works of my time could not flourish while they remained incomplete.
He said that we have come with a pledge that we will change the fate of Mirpur and Azad Kashmir. After I left the Prime Ministership, I remained silent but there was no progress in Kashmir. I want to ask the governments that came to Azad Kashmir and Pakistan after Nawaz Sharif’s government what they have done for Azad Kashmir. If they have done anything, tell me.
He said that I consider Kashmir my home, Kashmir is my first home, I also love Lahore and Kashmir is equally dear, do not consider it as Kashmir, this is Kashmir, this is Mirpur, Mirpur is not special, Bilawal, do not take my word for granted, you are my beneficiary, this infighting should be in political parties, there should be no bitterness, there should be no fighting, there should be no killing, there should be infighting, it should be infighting, it is a very good thing.
Nawaz Sharif said that our first priority is to educate the youth, schools and universities will be built here and special attention will be paid to health, Maryam Nawaz is building heart and cancer hospitals in Punjab and all kinds of machinery are available, I will tell Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam that every hospital here should have the same thing that you are doing in Punjab, there should be countless cancer and heart hospitals here too, there should be CT scans and MRI here too, these people should not go to Islamabad for treatment.
The former prime minister said that Maryam Nawaz has brought the electric buses that run in Lahore here as well, hospitals on wheels will also come and 10 hospitals will come here.
In the rally, slogans were raised that Kashmir is a necessity, Nawaz Sharif is necessary, in response, the former prime minister said that if a PML-N government is formed here and a PML-N prime minister becomes the prime minister, then I will go with him and go all over Azad Kashmir and get the work done under my supervision and the manifesto will be fulfilled.
He said that hospitals, colleges will be built, motorways will be built, it was decided to build a motorway from Mansehra to Muzaffarabad and from Muzaffarabad to Mirpur along the Jhelum River, but unfortunately, the governments that came after me did not pay any attention and that motorway could not be built. That plan was such that it would have changed the destiny of Kashmir, brought Kashmir to prosperity and God willing, they will build it.
He said that he wants to send a message to the citizens of Muzaffarabad that an expressway like Murree will be taken from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad.
Nawaz Sharif said that Shahbaz Sharif had laid the foundation for distributing laptops, now every talented child of Kashmir will get that laptop, the farmers of Azad Kashmir will get cheap fertilizers and seeds, the poor will get free medicines.
The former prime minister said that after meeting Shahbaz Sharif, I will tell him that there should be an international airport in Mirpur, Kotli Nikyal Road will be made two-lane, Sui gas should be provided to every house in Mirpur, drinking water should be provided, tunnels will be built in Lohar Gali and Lipa Valley, the message should reach them and scholarships will be given to talented students of Azad Kashmir.
