Islamabad: The Supreme Court has granted bail to the accused, Muhammad Jahanzeb, in a case involving the swindling of millions of rupees from citizens under the pretext of sending them abroad.
The Additional Attorney General informed the court that the accused had collected money from over a thousand victims and had also obtained the educational degrees of more than 3,000 individuals for employment purposes; the degrees of many young people have yet to be recovered from him.
According to the Additional Attorney General, there are direct complaints from 600 victims against the accused, and 120 million rupees have been recovered from his account. He informed the court that the total fraud exceeds 410 million rupees.
Counsel for the victims argued that the accused is continuing the same activities even while in custody, operating his entire network from within Adiala Jail.
