LAHORE: ANF in various operations conducted at Rawalpindi, Lahore and Peshawar, foiled several attempts to smuggle narcotics, and seized 114 Kgs of Heroin and 24 Kgs Charas. During operations, 4 drug offenders including a lady peddler were rounded up and 2 vehicles confiscated. Most of the recovered drug was destined abroad. The worth of recovered drugs amounts to Rs. 782 Million approximately in International Market.
ANF Lahore Airport Team on pursuance of information, foiled bid to smuggle Heroin abroad and recovered 108 Kgs of fine quality Heroin from a consignment at Air Cargo, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. The consignment was carrying grinding machine in a wooden box and Heroin was tactfully concealed inside the wooden packing. According to details, the consignment was destined for Malaysia and was booked by Inam Ullah r/o Gujranwala for a recipient namely Mushtaq Ahmed residing at Bentong Pahang, Malaysia. ANF has sent its teams for apprehending the dispatcher. ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car No. M-4531 near Quid-e-Azam International Hospital, Golra Mor, GT Road, Rawalpindi and recovered 5 Kgs of Heroin from the car. Two drug smugglers namely Imdad Hussain s/o Ghulam Rabbani r/o Karachi and Atique-ur-Rehman s/o Kachkol Khan r/o Khyber Agency were taken into custody at the spot. As per reports, Heroin was being transported from Khyber Agency and was to be received by a local supplier at Rawalpindi City. ANF Rawalpindi arrested a lady drug peddler Sadia Bibi w/o Shahbaz r/o Rawalpindi and recovered 500 Grams of Heroin from her personal possession. She was arrested in an operation carried out near Grave Yard No. 36, Pir Wadhai, Rawalpindi. According to initial reports, she is involved in supply of drugs at local level. ANF Peshawar Road Check Team on search of a suspected Honda Civic car No. LOV-0206 near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, recovered 24 Kgs of Charas concealed in it. Charas was tactfully concealed in oil tank and cavities in front doors of the car. A drug smuggler Muhammad Usman s/o Noor-ul-Baswar r/o Peshawar was apprehended at the spot. According to initial investigations, the accused was coming from Peshawar and was on his way to Rawalpindi for delivery of drugs to a local supplier. Cases have been registered under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are under progress.
