After the PIMS tragedy, a major crackdown was carried out against hospitals in the federal capital and fines of Rs 10 million were imposed on 48 hospitals and private centers for fire safety implementation.

According to Express News, fire and life safety arrangements were found to be inadequate in 48 government and private hospitals and medical centers in Islamabad.

The CDA conducted surprise raids and reviewed the fire safety arrangements in 48 hospitals and medical centers and imposed a total of Rs 14 million and 50 thousand fines on 48 hospitals for not taking action.

The CDA also took action in major hospitals in Islamabad. According to the announcement, challans will be issued to various hospitals and medical centers on August 30 and 31. Fines ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 500,000 were imposed for fire safety violations.
