ISLAMABAD: Editor-in-Chief Pakistan Group of Newspapers and Chairman Roze News SK Niazi, while conducting his renowned talk show Sachi Baat, Former Secretary Election Commission Kanwar Dilshad said need to increase water reserves and improve the country’s water management system. He said funds had previously been allocated for Kalabagh Dam and stressed that better water infrastructure could benefit agriculture and drinking-water supplies. Regarding constitutional amendments, he said the government should present an official draft, ensure transparency and follow constitutional procedures. He added that Parliament should be consulted and all relevant aspects considered before changes were made.

PTI MNA Yousuf Khan said the government was responsible for resolving public problems and ensuring security and peace. He stressed that Parliament’s authority and constitutional supremacy must be respected, while political parties should work together on national issues. He said PTI supported peaceful protest and remained open to negotiations with responsible individuals, adding that political disputes should be resolved through dialogue.
He also called for practical progress on water-storage projects and the construction of dams. Emphasising public welfare, he said the government must address longstanding difficulties faced by citizens and take effective measures to improve their lives. He maintained that political parties should be judged by public support and that people had the right to participate in the political process.

MNA PML-N Dr. Darshan called for the construction of small dams to conserve rainwater and floodwater, noting that substantial quantities of water were wasted by flowing into the sea. He said improved water storage could help address shortages and meet agricultural needs, warning that neglecting the issue could have serious consequences. He also highlighted concerns over tensions with India regarding water and stressed the importance of addressing the crisis as a national priority.
On Kashmir, he referred to United Nations resolutions and said the Kashmiri people should have the right to decide their future. Discussing development, he acknowledged projects undertaken in Karachi but said basic facilities, employment opportunities and modern medical equipment remained necessary in several areas. He stressed that the government must provide citizens with their rights and practical services, adding that public opinion would be considered on constitutional matters once an official draft became available.

Hurriyat Leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi said India was seeking to maintain its control over occupied Kashmir and called for greater international attention to the dispute. He stressed that the Kashmiri people should not be deprived of their fundamental rights and that any settlement must reflect their aspirations.
He urged Pakistan to use available diplomatic opportunities to highlight the Kashmir issue internationally and called for effective diplomatic measures to protect Kashmiri interests. He also said the international community should play its role in addressing the dispute and that steps should be taken to benefit both Pakistan and the Kashmiri people.
