Addressing a ceremony, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik stated that if the Prime Minister's affordable petrol scheme needs to be continued for another 10 months, it will be; the government will cut back on its own resources to fund the scheme.

The Federal Minister for Petroleum affirmed that the Prime Minister and the government would not take a single step back during this challenging time; if the system needs to run for 10 months, the government will divert 400 to 500 billion rupees from its budget to spend on the public.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reduced the price of petrol by up to 100 rupees per liter for motorcycles and small vehicles. So far, over 6 million people have registered their motorcycles and vehicles, and approximately 6 million individuals own motorcycles that are 20 years old.
