Rawalpindi: For the first time in the country's history, female accused were handcuffed in Rawalpindi, sparking strong protests from their relatives and members of the District Bar.




According to details, the hands of the female accused remained shackled together for approximately six to seven hours during the transit from Adiala Jail to the courts and back.




The women stated that having their hands bound together caused severe difficulties in boarding and disembarking from the police van, using the restroom, and adjusting their *dupattas* (scarves).




They alleged that police personnel, under the pretext of assisting them, would hold them from behind while helping them board the van and grasp their hands while helping them step down.
