A meeting of the Inter-Agency Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, during which the introduction of the hexavalent vaccine in Pakistan was approved.

Mustafa Kamal stated that the transition to the hexavalent vaccine represents a significant advancement for Pakistan's routine immunization program. He noted that continuous efforts had been underway for the past 14 months, in collaboration with Gavi and other global partners, to secure access to the hexavalent vaccine.

Mustafa Kamal highlighted that the hexavalent vaccine would protect children against six diseases. He added that the vaccine would require fewer injections, resulting in less discomfort for the children and fostering greater confidence and cooperation among parents.
