There is a fear that the inflation burden will further burden the people due to inflation and according to OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) sources, petroleum products will become more expensive by the end of the week.
OGRA sources said that petroleum products are likely to become more expensive by Rs 5.30 by the end of the week and diesel per liter is likely to become more expensive by Rs 5.28 and petrol by Rs 5.02 for three days.
Sources said that OGRA will determine the prices at night and a notification will be issued by the Petroleum Division.
OGRA sources said that the prices will be determined for 3 days – Saturday, Sunday and Monday, while the government has the authority to reduce or increase prices by reducing or increasing taxes.
It should be remembered that the government has continuously increased the price of petrol and diesel during the past one week and yesterday the price of petrol per liter was increased by Rs 3.5 and the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 5.37.
The government had fixed the price of petrol for Friday at Rs 370.80 per liter and the price of high-speed diesel at Rs 398.4 per liter.
