The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has postponed the schedule of local government elections by 7 days.

The government has been given another 7 days to complete the proposed amendments to the Local Government Act 2014. According to the Election Commission, new dates for all the affected stages of the election process will be included in the revised schedule.

The polling to be held on September 27 will also be held as per the new date. After the completion of the seven-day period, the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan will issue a new election program.
