ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee of the federal cabinet has approved temporary import of vehicles and auto parts, funds for various ministries and export of donkey meat and hides from Gwadar.
According to a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the ECC meeting approved Rs 5.98 billion for PIA’s dues, funds will be released for pensions, salaries and medical payments.
According to the Ministry of Finance, temporary import of vehicles and auto parts, export of donkey meat and hides from Gwadar have been approved, while the matter of the agreement with electricity companies has been sent for further consideration.
The ECC has decided to ban the import of goods made through forced labor. Rs 311 million for officers in Balochistan, Rs 372 million for the digital transformation of NAB and Rs 30 million for the national hockey team.
The ECC was briefed on the inflation situation in the meeting and it was informed that the prices of essential commodities have started stabilizing. Satisfaction was expressed in the meeting over the stability of prices.
It was informed that tomatoes, onions, flour, garlic and LPG have become cheaper, there is also a trend of decline in the price of sugar, there has been a slight increase in the prices of eggs, chicken, pulses, ghee and milk, and the trend of decline in the sensitive price index continues.
During the meeting, a one-year pilot project for temporary import and re-export of used vehicles and auto parts after repair was also allowed.
The meeting approved the sale of the existing stock related to the export of donkey meat and skins from Gwadar as per the rules, while the issue of public service obligation agreement related to electricity distribution companies has been sent to the relevant committee for further consideration.
