Islamabad :Today, on the phone call with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, discussed the Islamabad negotiations and prospects for reopening the Hormuz Strait.

Romania is affected by the conflicts in the Middle East because global security, increased prices in the energy market and limited access to fertilizers are also felt here.

Thanked minister Ishaq Dar for mediation efforts of Pakistan.

Along with regional partners, these moves were critical to achieving a ceasefire deal and avoiding a dangerous military escalation in the region.

The discussion reflected hope, but also moderate optimism, the ceasefire agreement is fragile and, in these days, it is a priority for the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue talks to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for naval traffic, without blockades and restore the regime of free navigation as it was before of the conflict.

In coordination with our international partners we will continue to call for de-escalation and dialogue.

We all know that there are no problems that can be solved directly from here, but we can also contribute, at the diplomatic level, to the solutions, together with our European partners, to the coalition initiated by the UK for the liberation of the Strait of Hormuz, to the UN and to the Council of Governors of the International Agency for Atomic Energy, where Romania received the support of other countries for the role of vice governor.

We also agreed to continue in a future meeting the dialogue for development of bilateral 🇷🇴🇵🇰 cooperation, especially the growth of trade exchanges, which is now about $ 150 million.

The signing of the MOU for Cooperation between Port of Constance and Port of Karachi in March this year is a concrete step that signals our countries joint priority for maritime trade routes to contribute to the growth of our economies.
