ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif contacted Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, in which detailed discussions were held on the situation in the region.

On the social networking platform X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister said that he also exchanged good wishes with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

During the conversation, Shahbaz Sharif expressed Eid al-Fitr greetings and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the royal family and the Saudi people.

The Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent attacks and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity and full support with Saudi Arabia and said that Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia in difficult times.

He appreciated the restraint of the Saudi leadership and stressed the urgent need for de-escalation of tensions, an immediate ceasefire and unity within the Muslim Ummah.

Shahbaz Sharif also briefed the Crown Prince on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the region, while the two leaders agreed to maintain close contact.
