According to a new study, artificial intelligence tools are causing people to suffer from severe mental fatigue, commonly known as ‘brain fry’.

Harvard Business Review researchers surveyed 1,500 US-based employees across multiple industries and identified a detrimental trend among those who use AI to improve performance and productivity.

The study found severe mental fatigue among AI users, making it difficult for them to focus on their work.

The researchers used the term ‘brain fry’ for this.

Participants in the survey reported symptoms of this condition including headaches, slow decision-making, and mental fogginess.
