US provides assistance to flood victims in Pakistan

Islamabad: The United States is providing assistance to the people affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan.

According to the US State Department, the US Mission to Pakistan, Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, was also present at the arrival and delivery of the first batch of relief supplies loaded with C-17 and C-130 aircraft at Nur Khan Air Base.

On this occasion, Natalie Baker expressed deep sympathy with the people of Pakistan and said that the United States is deeply saddened by the loss of life, homes and economic resources in the floods.

She said that at the request of the Government of Pakistan, the US State Department and the US military approved external assistance, and emergency supplies and equipment have been provided to support the ongoing national relief operations in the flood-affected areas.
