ISLAMABAD: The NDMA has released a report on the devastation caused by the recent monsoon rains and floods.
According to the NDMA, 16 people died and 10 were injured due to floods in the last two days. 13 deaths were reported in Punjab during the two days, while one death each was reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Kashmir.
According to the NDMA, 831 people died and 1121 were injured due to torrential rains and floods in the last two months. 191 people died in Punjab due to rains and floods, 480 people died in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 58 in Sindh, 24 in Balochistan and 41 in Gilgit-Baltistan due to rains and floods, 29 in Azad Kashmir, and 8 people in Islamabad were drowned in floodwaters.
The deaths due to rains and floods include 219 children, 128 women and 484 men. 9,000 houses were damaged due to floods, more than 6,000 animals were drowned in rainwater.
238 bridges and 661 kilometers of highways were washed away by the flood, 35 thousand people are in camps due to the flood, 26 thousand in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 6 thousand in Punjab, 3 thousand in Gilgit-Baltistan.
1880 rescue operations were carried out in relief operations, relief teams rescued more than 500,000 people in rescue operations, 485,000 people were rescued in Punjab, 14 thousand people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
