Central Spokesperson of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Shazia Marri, while reacting to the rumors circulating about the resignation of President Asif Ali Zardari, has said that the rumors of President Zardari’s resignation are fabricated and based on lies.
She said that the PPP and President Asif Ali Zardari have proven that we never leave the field, history is witness that President Asif Zardari faced dictatorship and imprisonment but did not back down.
Shazia Marri said that we have good relations with our allies, and a two-thirds majority is required in the four provincial assemblies, the National Assembly and the Senate. Therefore, there is no justification for any such question, President Zardari is the only politician who gave presidential powers to the parliament.
She said that thanks to President Zardari’s political insight, the four units got provincial autonomy, when the country faced difficulties, it was President Zardari who raised the slogan of Pakistan Khappa.
Shazia Marri said that President Asif Ali Zardari will be the first civilian president of the country to complete his two presidential terms.
In addition, senior party leader Sherry Rehman said in her statement that the talk of President Zardari’s resignation is baseless and misleading, these rumors are an attempt to weaken the democratic structure under an organized conspiracy, the public should not be a part of these fake news, rumors and negative propaganda.
She further said that President Zardari kept the flag of democracy high at every critical time, he is a symbol of democratic stability and a true guardian of constitutional values, the President transferred all powers to the parliament with his own will and political insight.
Sherry Rehman said that today President Asif Zardari is the most important pillar of the balance and stability of the coalition government, even today he is the real protector of the parliamentary system and the guarantor of constitutional continuity, President Zardari’s presence is a guarantee that the constitution, parliament and democratic institutions remain safe.
