GUJRAT: Since Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI), essentially wants to rule the Parvez Elahi-led Punjab government from Islamabad, the PML-Q has no problem with the older coalition partner’s policy of giving orders on significant issues.
Well-placed sources informed that lists including the names of individuals mostly in administrative, police, and other vital posts are being provided to the Punjab CM office as from former prime minister’s Banigala mansion who is purportedly looking to replicate the Usman Buzdar model.
Mian Imran Masood, the Punjab PML-information Q’s secretary, claims that because his party wants to gain the trust of PTI Chairman, Khan Sahib, it will adhere to Khan Sahib’s guidance in matters of governance.
As the party has not requested any ministerial slots for its MPs in the first round of the cabinet formation, the PML-Q is determined to avoid embarrassing the PTI in any way.
When asked if this model would be successful given that it failed in the cases of Usman Buzdar and Arif Nakai, Mr. Masood responded that while the two politicians were relatively inexperienced in politics, CM Elahi had successful working experience with former leader Parvez Musharraf from 2002 to 2007.
