KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that he has come to Karachi to work for the dream of ‘new Karachi’, adding that his vision of ‘new Pakistan’ is not complete without it.
Addressing the participants of the campaign rally for NA 246 by-elections, Khan said that the politics of violence in Karachi has diminished potential of Mujahirs.
Karachi’s peace was taken over by violence induced by politics that divide others on basis of linguistic differences, he said.

PTI chief said that he is told to say his prayers whenever he comes to Karachi, adding that people fear while coming to Karachi. PTI chief said that his party is not afraid and no one can stop them.
He said he has come to Karachi to break fears and asked how many times Prime Minister Nawaz come to Karachi has.
“Nawaz Sharif is PM, how many times has he been to Karachi?” he asked. “Nawaz Sharif thinks you can become PM by winning Punjab and KP.”
“In next election, we are certain PTI will win in Punjab and KP and I have still come to Karachi, I know how much Karachi is valuable in new Pakistan,” he added.
He said new election will take place after judicial commission’s decision and PTI will win. Imran Khan said that he has never seen such an instance where leader of a party is abroad on exile while his party is in the government. He urged the political parties to end their militant wings.
Imran Khan asked Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain not to mind his speech if he is watching.
