Instant messaging application WhatsApp is working on a feature called Voicemail, which will allow users to record an instant message if a call is not picked up.

According to the latest report presented on WhatsApp Beta Info, when a user calls another user on WhatsApp and does not receive a response, a ‘Record Voice Message’ button will appear on the screen along with the ‘Call Again’ and ‘Cancel’ buttons, while this option will also appear inside the chat.

Although you can still send a voice message using the mic button in a chat, the company says that using these two shortcuts will save you time in sending an audio message to a user who is not picking up their phone.

According to WhatsApp Beta, the feature is currently available to some beta users on the Android version. However, it is not clear when it will be rolled out to all users.
