US Vice President JD Vance is likely to visit Pakistan this week for talks on the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Sources told Express News that US Vice President JD Vance may visit Pakistan this week.

In Washington, an American journalist asked US President Donald Trump on his return to the White House from Memphis whether the Vice President was going to Pakistan for talks with the Iranians, but Trump ignored the question and walked away without answering the question about the Vice President’s departure for Pakistan.

The Pakistani Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement that some matters in diplomacy have to be carried out quietly, the media should avoid speculation regarding the US-Iran talks.

He said that the media is expected to avoid speculation and wait for official announcements regarding decisions and results.

Similarly, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed his determination to host and facilitate comprehensive negotiations to end the war in the Middle East and he said on the social networking website X that after the consent of the US and Iran, Pakistan is ready to host and facilitate meaningful negotiations for a comprehensive settlement of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Earlier, a White House spokesperson confirmed that Field Marshal Asim Munir had telephoned US President Donald Trump, but did not provide details in this regard.
