Former national cricketer Umar Akmal’s explanation of comparing himself with Babar Azam has come to light on his Instagram story.

In a statement released on the social networking website X, Umar Akmal said that his intention was never to compare himself with Babar Azam.

He clarified that Babar Azam is currently one of the top batsmen in the world and he has great respect for his performance and achievements.

Umar Akmal further said that the main purpose of his statement was only to raise the point that the middle-order position in the T20 format is not completely compatible with Babar Azam’s natural game.

According to him, it was not any kind of comparison but only an opinion regarding his role in the team.
