Lahore: In the fifth match of PSL 11, Quetta Gladiators defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen by 40 runs.
In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Hyderabad Kingsmen’s team could score 134 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in pursuit of the target.
Irfan Khan stood out for Kingsmen by scoring 33 runs. Hassan Khan 31, captain Marnus Labuschagne 23, Usman Khan 14, Saim Ayub 8, Syed Saad Ali 7, Hammad Azam 6 and Moaz Sadaqat 0 were dismissed.
For Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed took 3 and Ahmed Daniyal took 2 wickets. Usman Tariq, Al-Zari Joseph and Saud Shakeel took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators scored 175 runs for the loss of 8 wickets while batting first.
Shamail Hussain and Hassan Nawaz were outstanding with 54 and 53 runs, Tom Curran was dismissed for 31 runs, except for these three batsmen, none of them could enter double figures.
For Hyderabad Kings, Riley Meredith took 3 wickets, Akif Javed and Mahesh Tekshana took 2 wickets each.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators had won the toss and decided to bat first. Hyderabad Kingsmen are led by Marnus Labuschagne while Quetta Gladiators are led by Saud Shakeel.
It should be noted that Quetta Gladiators and Hyderabad Kingsmen had to face failure in their first match. Both teams have zero points on the points table.
Both teams are determined to win today’s match and secure their first victory in the tournament.
The sixth match of the tournament will be played between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium today at 7 pm.
