ISLAMABAD: Approval of peaceful Balochistan plan by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to bring angry Balochs into the mainstream will have very positive impact on the biggest province and entire country, a business leader said Sunday.
Ground-breaking of three development projects, Mangi am, BalochistanAgriculture University and a flyover shows interest of the government to resolve issue in Balochistan that have compromised growth since long, said Patron Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Shahid Rasheed Butt.
Speaking to the business community, he said that there are reports that almost all major Baloch insurgent groups, had opened negotiations with the stakeholders in Balochistan for which the central government, provincial government and Army deserves credit. Shahid Rasheed Butt said that Balochistan is full of oil, gas and natural resources which can settle energy crisis therefore it is a step in the right direction to give it central role in the future development of Pakistan.
Balochistan will benefit most from the Pakistan-China economic corridor therefore peace is this province is critical, he added. He said that government plans to connect Pakistan with Central Asia via Tirmiz and soon Balochistan will be the central point of the economic activity of the whole region. The Prime Minister should visit Balochistan every month to supervise the development activity, ensure pace of work as well as transparency and timely completion, he demanded. He sought action against elements dubbing operation against criminals as political victimisation.
