The Xiaomi 12S series, which includes the much anticipated Xiaomi 12S Ultra and three new smartphones, has been introduced by Xiaomi. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is undoubtedly the product on which Xiaomi has focused its efforts; it is a significant improvement over the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra even though the 12S and 12S Pro offer just modest advancements over their predecessor (opens in new tab).
Improvements to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra include a powerful camera system with Sony’s enormous IMX989 1-inch sensor, new camera technology created in partnership with Leica, a better display, and a quicker SoC. In other words, it is poised to compete favourably with the top camera phones now available.

The Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra has now surpassed the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra in terms of the largest functional camera phone sensor. Its one-inch Sony-made sensor is also found in Sony’s own Xperia Pro-I(opens in new tab), however only about 60% of the sensor’s surface area is actually utilised in this phone.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra can’t be missed; it has a luxury appearance and is distinguished by a spherical camera bump that occupies about a third of the back.
