Islamabad: After the enactment of the twenty-sixth constitutional amendment, the Supreme Court referred the reinstatement petitions of the dismissed employees to the constitutional benches.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah conducted the hearing. Advocate Waseem Sajjad said that peaceful life is the constitutional right of every citizen. On which Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked that there is a constitutional question in this case and it is said in the 26th constitutional amendment that constitutional cases will be heard by the constitutional benches, so the higher benches will be formed and they will decide.

The Supreme Court remarked that cases of constitutional question in the context of the 26th Constitutional Amendment will be heard by the Constitution Benches, referring the petitions to the Constitution Benches.
It should be noted that seven employees of the Ministry of Petroleum Natural Resources had approached the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court.
