ISLAMABAD: The government is preparing to further burden the people suffering from inflation and there is a possibility of a sharp increase in the prices of petroleum products from March 1. Government sources said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its work on the prices of petroleum products and from March 1, the prices of petroleum products are likely to increase by Rs 6.88 per liter. Sources said that the price of petrol is likely to increase by Rs 4.58 per liter, the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 4.73 per liter. Sources further said that the price of kerosene is likely to increase by Rs 6.88 per liter and the price of light diesel oil by Rs 5 per liter. After the formal approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Petroleum Division will issue a notification of the new prices.
