Karachi: Peoples Party Provincial Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah has made serious allegations while reacting to the press conference of MQM Pakistan leaders.

Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said that the recent narrative of MQM Pakistan is a failed attempt to mislead the people by political bankruptcy. Despite being a partner in the federation, slandering the Sindh government is a clear proof of their duplicity.

He said that in the name of Article 140-A and the local government system, these people are actually fueling their old and failed conspiracies to separate Karachi from Sindh. Both Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and his party have become unpopular among the people.

Zulfiqar Ali Shah said that the land of Sindh is the land of Sufis, those who dream of its division will always fail. Instead of venturing into adventures through the 28th Constitutional Amendment, MQM should focus on its performance. The people of Karachi are no longer going to be fooled by their hollow slogans and linguistic politics.

He said that there will be no compromise on provincial autonomy and the 18th Amendment. MQM ministers are sitting in the federal government and taking privileges and coming to Karachi to cry about oppression. Those who cry about local government powers should tell us what they did for the people when they were in power.

The provincial minister for culture and tourism said that the Sindh government has always provided record funds for the development of Karachi, while the MQM has only promoted linguistic hatred. Interpreting Article 140-A at will is a joke with the constitution. The process of devolution of powers to the lower levels is underway. The Pakistan Peoples Party will not allow any harm to come to the unity of Sindh.

He said that those who talk about the division of Sindh are following an anti-national agenda. The federal government should ask its allies why they repeatedly try to harm provincial harmony. MQM’s politics is now limited to press conferences only. We will oppose any constitutional amendment that is brought with the intention of robbing Sindh of its rights or dividing it.
