ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have announced to contest the by-elections together.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi and PPP leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf announced in a joint press conference that they will not field candidates against each other in the by-elections.
PPP leader and former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that today’s meeting was held on the instructions of the leaders of both parties and discussed the by-elections and it has been decided between the two parties that they will contest the by-elections together.
He said that it has been decided between the two parties that in the constituency where the party was the runner-up, the other party will support it.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that a formula has been agreed between the two coalition parties, the PML (N) will support us and the PML (N) will support us.
He said that the PML-N will support us in the constituency where the PPP candidate came second in the general elections and the PPP will support us in the constituency where the PML-N candidate came second.
Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi said that both parties are allies of each other in the Senate, national and provincial assemblies and both parties will fight the by-elections together.
Hanif Abbasi said that both parties will win the by-elections together.
