ISLAMABAD: At the request of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to China for two days starting on the first of next month.A powerful team, including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will travel with him.
After meeting President Xi Jinping on September 16, 2022, in Uzbekistan, the Prime Minister would be making his first trip to China since taking office in April 2022.Following the momentous 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Prime Minister will be among the first world leaders to visit China.
Asim Iftikhar, a spokesperson for the Foreign Office, said in a statement that the Prime Minister’s visit continued the frequent exchanges between Pakistan and China at the leadership level. In addition to meeting with President Xi Jinping, the Prime Minister will speak with Premier Li Keqiang at the delegation level.
The All-Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership will be reviewed, and the two parties will discuss regional and international trends.According to Asim Iftikhar, the visit is also anticipated to reinforce the momentum of CPEC cooperation and push the broad bilateral cooperation agenda by concluding a number of MoUs/Agreements in various fields.
