ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed on poverty eradication and job creation in a meeting of the economic advisory council at his Bani Gala residence. Federal ministers, members of the economic advisory council and senior officials attended the meeting during which the country’s current economic situation and the government’s 100-day plan was being discussed.The meeting discussed ways to create more jobs and eradicate poverty, and made recommendations to the prime minister regarding financing of the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme Programme. Earlier sources told that reports on sub-groups formed by the advisory council were presented and senior officials put forth recommendations on employment opportunities, social safety protection and trade cooperation. Further, sources said that the prime minister was also briefed on the talks held between Pakistan and the IMF delegation. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to announce mega uplift package for Miranshah during his visit to North Waziristan town on today (Monday). According to sources, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtonkhwa, Mehmood Khan, will also accompany PM Khan during his visit. The Prime Minister will also meet jirga comprising elders of North Waziristan and South Waziristan. Sources informed that PM Khan was likely to announce big package for Miranshah that may include construction of universities, hospitals and sports complex. INP
