Islamabad: A Pakistani national has been revealed to have brought his Polish daughter to Pakistan through deception without the mother’s permission. The Polish national has approached the Islamabad High Court for the return of her daughter.
According to Express News, Adeel Khan, a resident of Sindh, had brought his Polish national daughter Anita Maryam Khan to Pakistan in January 2022.
Upon the Polish mother’s claim, the Islamabad High Court ordered the Interior Secretary to form a JIT comprising IB, FIA and NADRA officers to find the girl.
The Islamabad High Court has directed that the JIT seek help from the Home Department and IG Sindh to trace the girl and her father. The applicant also filed a separate application and provided her husband’s passport number. The NADRA officials should obtain Adeel Khan’s family tree and other information from the database and get the location.
The Islamabad High Court has said in its order that the JIT should also obtain information about the mobile SIMs registered on Adeel Khan’s identity card number. According to FIA officials, Adeel Khan last landed at Jinnah Airport Karachi on December 18, 2024.
The High Court has said in a written order that this aspect makes it clear that Adeel Khan is still present in Pakistan. The names of Adeel Khan and daughter Anita Maryam Khan should be included in the ECL and blacklist. It is necessary to take effective steps to protect the girl. The DG FIA Director Human Trafficking Karachi should provide details until the JIT’s notification.
The court said that the Director Human Trafficking Circle Karachi should make serious efforts to trace the minor girl and her father. The Home Secretary Sindh and the IG Sindh should also cooperate in tracing Adeel Khan and her daughter.
The daughter’s Polish mother had taken the position in her application that her husband brought her Polish national daughter Anita Maryam Khan to Pakistan in January 2022 while she was hospitalized. The Polish district court rejected the husband Adeel Khan’s request to extradite her daughter. The husband brought her daughter to Pakistan maliciously while the case was being heard in the Polish court. The Polish court ordered the daughter to be brought from Pakistan to Poland in November 2022 within six months.
The next hearing of this case in the Islamabad High Court will be on January 21, 2025. The Islamabad High Court had earlier handed over two children to two Polish mothers in 2022.
