New technique developed to protect patients from stroke

Scientists have discovered a new technique that can reduce the risk of stroke.

There is a pouch on the left side of the upper part of the heart called the ‘left atrial appendage’. When the heart is beating irregularly, blood collects in this pouch instead of flowing normally and forms blood clots.

If even one of these breaks out here, it can travel to the brain and block blood flow and cause a stroke.

Researchers have recently come up with a new technique in which a magnetically guided liquid is injected into the heart, which seals the pouch tightly from the inside.

Early trials of this technique (which has only been tested on animals so far) have shown that this method could one day reduce the risk of stroke in people with atrial fibrillation.

Currently, treatments for this disease are effective, but they have some drawbacks. Currently, most patients are given blood-thinning medications. These medications reduce the risk of blood clots and stroke.

But the major disadvantage of these medications is bleeding, which can be dangerous for people with complicated conditions.
