Islamabad: The hearing on the intra-court appeals in the Military Courts case was adjourned until tomorrow, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel remarked that it does not matter whether the trial is held here or there.
A seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan heard the Military Courts case.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar inquired how many people were released from the Military Court? Civil Society Lawyer Faisal Siddiqui said that there were 105 total accused, out of which 20 accused were released.
The Additional Attorney General said that 20 were released first, then 19 were released, currently there are 66 accused in jails.
Lawyer Faisal Siddiqui said that it is customary in America that at the end of arguments, both parties are given the right to propose judgment, if they say that a court martial is to be held, there is also an alternative.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel remarked that whoever committed the crime, punishment should be meted out, it does not matter whether the trial is held here or there.
Faisal Siddiqui said that there is a world of difference in trials, one trial is independent and the other is in the military.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel remarked that all forums are available and all forums are respectable.
