Ali Zafar wins case, Meesha Shafi gets Rs 5 million in damages

A Lahore court has upheld Ali Zafar’s position in the long-running defamation case between singer Ali Zafar and actress Meesha Shafi.

The court has also imposed a compensation of Rs 5 million on Meesha Shafi in its decision.

This case came to light when Meesha Shafi had accused Ali Zafar of harassment, in response to which Ali Zafar approached the court and filed a defamation claim. Now the Lahore Sessions Court has ruled in favor of the singer while giving the decision in this case.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court had also given important remarks in this matter. The High Court had upheld the ban imposed on Meesha Shafi on making statements on social media and rejected the request to lift it. In the detailed decision issued by Justice Ahmed Nadeem Arshad, it was said that expression of opinion is a fundamental right, but it cannot be used to harm anyone’s honor and dignity.

After the court decision, the case has once again become the center of attention, and different opinions are emerging on social media.
