LAHORE : Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to introduce province-wide infrastructure and design standardisation to ensure uniform development and improved urban discipline.

The decision was taken during a special meeting chaired by the chief minister, where officials gave a detailed briefing on various aspects of infrastructure standardisation.

Maryam Nawaz approved the adoption of a “One Punjab, One Standard” policy aimed at promoting uniform growth and administrative discipline. Under the plan, roads, green belts, signboards and footpaths across the province will follow a standardised design.

The meeting also decided to standardise the architectural designs of schools, hospitals, bus stops and other public buildings. Officials discussed the creation of an autonomous authority to oversee standardisation and urban design reforms to transform Punjab’s infrastructure landscape.

The proposal to introduce uniform designs for roadside kiosks and small shop cabins along highways was also reviewed.

The chief minister directed authorities to prepare a comprehensive standardised design manual, stating that Punjab would now be recognised by a single identity and uniform standards.

“Discipline is the true beauty of development. From Lahore to Rajanpur, every street will be organised, every highway aesthetically pleasing, and every institution a model of order,” she said.

Maryam Nawaz added that uniform infrastructure and road furniture designs enhance a city’s aesthetic appeal and create a cohesive urban identity across the province.
